DISTRIBUTING SANITATION KITS & IEC MATERIALS

As a part of CLC's institutional sustainability approach, we are sensitizing the poor, vulnerable populations in Juba and Nibule about COVID-19 through distribution of reusable face masks as well as Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials that promote awareness of the importance of face masks.

Who We Help

Women and girls are mainly the breadwinners for the many vulnerable populations who live in makeshift/slums and informal settlements of Juba. They bear the brunt of this pandemic.

The women and young girls grow vegetables, sell food along the roadside markets and therefore are vulnerable to attracting the virus. If we are able to empower them with adequate information on prevention through social distancing, mask wearing and hand washing, then we might be able to defeat COVID-19 and save many dear lives.

Our Plans

We hopes to distribute 10,000 face masks with sensitization messages on 3000 IEC materials. CLC will reach out to 3000 women and youth in the same areas with face masks and IEC materials. We have developed radio audio messages for sensitization which shall be played on Radio Bakhita, Radio Miraya and Radio One in Arabic, Luo and Bari languages.

CLC plans to distribute 3000 seeds packets of Okra, Sukuma wiki seeds, Ngete and Korofa to women and men living at banks of River Nile to support their resilience as a result of the pandemic.
